Yesterday was literally one of those nights that I realized that I can seriously do anything! Thursday, September 8th, 2011 was a day for realizations and blessings and awesome opportunities for my future.

I woke up in the morning very early to meet with my advisor, and I have to say Paula Thompson is the best! She helped me out in everything within my path as a passionate dancer and she’s also guiding me through the process of being a successful educator as well. I couldn’t have asked for a better person. And after catching up with her, I took her intermediate modern class. I haven’t had a technique class in so long and it felt so good to be in a dance class environment again. Being on the dance floor, with ballet barres around, the piano at the corner, the mirrors, the scenery, the stereo… it felt like home.

After that, I get a call from my other advisor for my internship at LACHSA saying if I was interested in doing a hip hop dance class from 1:30-4pm to substitute for the faculty members and I was SO THRILLED!!! Once I walked through the school and received the keys to open the King Hall Dance Studio 3, it felt like a dream come true. I felt like an actual faculty member for a performing arts high school which is one of the goals I truly wanted to fulfill in my life. The students were amazing, they were so focused, they approached me saying how fun it was and they really want me to teach again… it just felt SO RIGHT! I felt honored. I am truly blessed!

4pm struck and I was on my way to Skinny’s Lounge in North Hollywood and surprisingly NO TRAFFIC on the 10 to the 5 to the 134 freeway… CRAZY! That is very rare in the city of Los Angeles! lol! But anyways, got there early and was getting ready for the night that my team COSMIC DANCE CREW and I created! Even though people got LOST… IT WAS A SUCCESSFUL NIGHT!!!!!! I couldn’t have asked for a better team to work with to make that night successful!!!

Mariko Iwabuchi — for sticking with me through all the stressful times of creating this event! Thank you oh so much for getting Werrk Dance Crew to perform with us and for creating the program! Thank you for making the schedules for rehearsals. You are so awesome! Not only are you a great partner, dancer, professor and choreographer but you are a great friend, lover, and sister to ME! I LOVE YOU!

Nancy Ishihara — for always being by my side no matter what! Thank you for getting Andrew Eng to perform with COSMIC, helping me out with the program, backstage issues, taking pictures, getting guests to come and watch! You are amazing! Like mariko, you are not just a great partner, but you are a great friend, secret lesbian lover, and sister to me. INCEST! lol I LOVE YOU GIRL!

Diana J. Kae — for guiding me through all the hardships that was in my way! Thank you for helping me out with the emails, getting artists, being the manager and queen bee for the night LOL! You are very talented and so creative and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner than you! You always tell me that I remind you of you, but I actually look up to you very much on what you do and all your hard work. I LOVE YOU!!!

and I also would like to THANK DJ VERVE, WYATT, BESTIE JEAN, ANDREW ENG “TOAD”, TWIN DIKO ALLEN CHUNG, SARAH YIM, SHAO LIN and WERRK DANCE CREW!!! if it wasn’t for you… there wouldn’t be a show or a dance program! you all are amazing and very talented! Let nothing put you down!! Keep your head high and I know you all will go FAR! This event wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for you guys to stick with COSMIC! I LOVE YOU ALL!

I am truly blessed to have all these people in my life. If it wasn’t for all of you… I wouldn’t be able to do anything… If it wasn’t for you all.. I wouldn’t be the person I am now. THANK YOU ALL. I LOVE YOU!. WE can do ANYTHING!

i want to be mentored in my dancing professionally. im making this promise to myself. once i get the money in the middle of august. i am promising to myself that I will be dancing 3-4 times a week. 1hour-1hour and a half each class. 6-8 classes week. i am going to do it. and i hope someday.. I will find that one choreographer one teacher that will influence me personally and directly to guide my way to express my feelings through the art of dance. I know I found my mentor in grade school. I found my mentor in high school. I found my mentor in college. Now that I am graduating and soon I will be on my own… I still want to find that mentor while I am on my own… to guide my way on being a mentor for someone else.

dance is my love. passion. never want it to fade. or be taken away.
